When I consider the influence of Neptune in Aries, I see the potential for inspired action, which can manifest as bold expressions of sensitivity, compassion, idealism and creative vision. The higher side of Neptune represents kindness, mercy, understanding, artistic brilliance and divine connection.
In its highest and purest form, Neptune is perfection, and in its lowest form it can manifest as deception, delusion, misdirection and fraud, which suggests the potential for unscrupulous ambition and hidden agendas.
For example, Neptune in Aries may give rise to true spiritual warriors who genuinely seek out and share sacred knowledge for the betterment of humankind.
However, it can just as easily trigger the rise of spiritual influencers and cult leaders who promise enlightenment as they promote false narratives that boost their egos, line their pockets and serve their interests.
The truth is we can expect to encounter both types because as Neptune makes its way through Aries, the odds are high that some type of spiritual warfare will be on the table.
Speaking of war, Neptune’s last visit to Aries was during the American Civil War. Like all wars, it involved the self-sacrifice (Neptune) of every soldier (Aries) who fought in it. While this transit alone doesn’t guarantee that war is ahead, when taken together with Pluto in Aquarius and the forthcoming Uranus in Gemini transit, it strongly suggests that the start of World War III is in the not-so-distant future.
Given the simultaneous influence of Neptune in Aries, we should expect that the powers that be won’t be telling us the whole story, and their decision to start and/or enter World War III will serve an ulterior interest.
What will that interest be? Just look to the planets. Neptune is the planetary ruler of oil and gas, and Saturn (also in Aries) is the planetary ruler of minerals. There you have it. The spoils of war, and the rest of the story.
It is also possible that Neptune in Aries will be about dissolving identities. Whether it is about professional designations, gender roles, cultural associations, economic classes or any other form of identity that distinguishes us as individuals, Neptune in Aries can blur the lines.
On a lighter note, since Neptune is an ego-denying planet, it suggests that as it makes its way through Aries we may get to see some political kingpins, business bigwigs, spiritual leaders and entertainment honchos get put in their place.
As for its influence on the personal level, the potential for inspired action will be alive and well, and we can expect to see more individuals step up on behalf of those who are less fortunate, especially those who have been silenced, shamed, victimized and made to feel invisible.
Likewise, we can expect Neptune in Aries to inspire people to pursue artistic expression, engage in self-discovery and seek spiritual illumination, which for some may mean developing a more personal connection with the Divine.
This influence can also promote passive behavior, and while that may be helpful in terms of taming egos and subduing aggressive stances, it can be harmful if it dissolves one’s motivation, ambition and sense of self.
If left unchecked, Neptune in Aries can bring about an identity crisis.
That’s why it’s so important to be mindful of its energy. In contrast to grandiose Jupiter, authoritative Saturn, radical Uranus or intimidating Scorpio, Neptune is so subtle that we can easily forget it is even there.
And unfortunately by the time we remember, the damage is already done.
