Transiting Mars in Virgo
After weeks of command performances, noble causes and more than a few temper tantrums while in Leo, it was time for Mars to take a bow, turn off the spotlight, exit the building and head into Virgo where, unbeknownst to him, he was about to experience the astrological culture shock of his life.
As the natural ruler of Aries, Mars is a fiery, ego-driven planet who is used to leadership roles, public recognition for his accomplishments and a quick getaway the moment he starts feeling bored.
Given his nature, you can imagine his reaction when he realized that as long as he was under the Maiden’s roof, he would never be more than a supporting player.
Had he been in almost any another sign, he would have declared war. However, because he was immersed in one that’s steeped in practicality, a cooler head prevailed, and he realized that no matter what sign claimed him as its own, he was still Mars. He may never be known for his humility, but he’ll always be known for his ambition and desire to be number one.
And that’s when he decided that if he had to be a supporting player, then he would be the best supporting player in the cosmos.
While in the sign of the Maiden, Mars can be a bit high strung. To be happy, he needs to be busy doing something useful that he feels will make a difference.
As the sixth sign of the zodiac, Virgo is known for its efficiency, its need to be of service and its talent for healing. With an uncanny ability to restore order to chaos, no other sign in the zodiac can outdo Virgo in a crisis. No matter what the situation, while Mars is here, he’s a tireless worker with a strong sense of duty who won’t stop until the job is done.
However, despite his good intentions he can be judgmental, impatient and easily annoyed with anyone who can’t keep up with the pace. In Virgo, Mars doesn’t express his anger through physical altercations, threats or screaming matches. Instead, he responds with sarcasm and barbs.
Although Mars in Virgo gets genuine satisfaction from serving, healing and holding down the fort for others, he’s still Mars. True, he’s a more humble version, but he still has an ego that wants to be satisfied, and if it’s not, you can expect a litany of complaints and martyr-like behavior.
Fortunately, it doesn’t take much to soothe his ego, because when he’s in the sign of the Maiden, all he wants is a little appreciation.
And that really isn’t much to ask.
