Jupiter-Uranus Conjunction
As Above, So Below
The Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Taurus occurred on April 20, and since this aspect occurs approximately every 14 years, we will continue to see its influence out in the mundane world for years to come.
But in the meantime, here are three recent events that can be attributed to this conjunction.
Campus Protests
The first anti-Israel/pro-Palestine campus protest occurred at Columbia University on April 17, and while the conjunction hadn’t yet occurred, its influence was already in effect.
Since that time, protests have erupted on more than 150 university campuses across the country, with many escalating into a riot and resulting in 2,000 arrests (see here).
In astrology, Jupiter rules colleges and universities and Uranus rules rebellion and chaos.
In addition to ruling institutions of higher learning, Jupiter presides over international affairs, religion and political beliefs. Not only have similar protests have erupted across the globe) but they are directly connected to foreign affairs (Israel and Palestine), religion (Jewish population) and political beliefs (government support for Israel).
One of Jupiter’s roles is to expand whatever it touches. In this case, it’s touching Uranus and not only have we seen the number of campus rebellions increase across the nation but we have seen many of the universities descend into chaos (also Uranus).
Uranus is a planet of extremes, and with some protesters commandeering buildings and calling for death to the Jewish population, death to Israel and death to the United States, it’s not a stretch to call them extremists.
Besides ruling rebellion, Uranus rules organized movements, as well as disruption, separation and technology. As a result of these protests, some colleges and universities suspended classes and turned to remote learning, and in some cases, commencement ceremonies were canceled, scaled back or disrupted.
Uranus also rules strangers and there are reports that in some cases many of the protesters have no connection to the universities.
Lastly, the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction took place in Taurus, the sign that rules money.
Not only are some parents and students demanding tuition refunds, but reports have emerged the protests are being funded by The Tides Foundation.
New FTC Rule
On April 23, the Federal Trade Commission announced a rule that will ban almost all existing non-compete agreements and prohibit new ones.
A non-compete agreement is a legal contract signed by employees that prohibits them from working for a competitor for a certain length of time (e.g., 2 years) and/or from opening a competing business within a certain time frame and/or radius.
By banning these agreements, this legal rule (Jupiter) will effectively liberate (Uranus) every employee who was bound by one, thereby removing restrictions on where they can earn their income.
Note: Although the rule is expected to go into effect on/about August 26, 2024, the Federal Trade Commission’s authority to invalidate such contracts is being challenged in the courts with more lawsuits expected to follow (see here).
Banking
Taurus doesn’t just rule money. It rules the entire banking industry, and on April 26th, Republic First Bank in Philadelphia became the first regional bank failure of 2024 when it was seized by the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities. (It has since been take over by Fulton Bank.)
Conclusion
So there you have it. Three distinctly different examples of how a major astrological aspect above can manifest in the mundane world below.
