5 Reasons Why Jupiter Transits Let You Down
As the planet of luck, success and abundance, it’s no surprise that Jupiter transits inspires great expectations. However, there are times when it comes along and by the time it’s over, you feel like you’ve been the victim of a giant cosmic rip-off. What gives?
There are five major reasons why Jupiter transits to the horoscope can disappoint, and understanding them will help you avoid a Jupiter let down.
1. Planetary spoilers. A planetary spoiler is a competing transit that diminishes Jupiter’s influence. In other words, there’s another transit going on at the same time from a planet that’s stronger (Saturn, Uranus, Neptune or Pluto) that speaks to the same matter (for example, money), but the influence of the stronger planet’s aspect (connection) diminishes or overpowers Jupiter’s influence.
This one is beyond your control, but one of the benefits of astrology is that you (or your astrologer) can see it coming. Once aware, you can manage your expectations accordingly, and depending upon the competing transit, you may even be able to take prior action to reduce its influence.
2. The natal promise isn’t that promising. This one is also beyond your control. Jupiter’s role is to expand whatever it touches, and some of your planets hold more promise than others. The extent of any potential blessings that would be triggered by a Jupiter transit depends upon the condition of the planet receiving it.
That being said, if you’re hoping for a big financial windfall when Jupiter conjuncts your natal Venus (and there are no planetary spoilers), whether or not it comes to pass depends on the financial promise that Venus holds in your horoscope. If it’s well supported, you could be on the receiving end of some big bucks, but if not, don’t expect this transit to bring you bundles of cash.
3. You expected it to fall into your lap. Jupiter doesn’t always deliver its blessings completely assembled. Oftentimes it comes in the form of an opportunity that requires some action on your part.
For example, it could come in the form of a social opportunity where you meet the love of your life or as an email from a former co-worker about an available position that would be your dream job.
4. The double-edged sword of abundance. While Jupiter abundance is usually a good thing, there are times when its amplifying influence brings a large quantity of something undesirable.
Case in point: When transiting Jupiter is in the second house of money, it’s common to coincide with an increase in income. However, since the second house also rules expenditures, Jupiter’s presence here could coincide with an increase in spending. While such payments could be discretionary purchases, they can just as easily be necessary and costly expenses.
5. Your circumstances at the time of the transit. In other words, what have you been doing up until now? Every action that you’ve taken in the past has led you to this very moment in time. Jupiter may be poised to help expand your career or increase your income, but how much of a leap you make depends on what you’ve done until this point. As an example, Jupiter could bring a job opening, but if you never finished those last three credits for the required degree, it’s not going to happen.
So where does this leave you?
It leaves you prepared to work with the energy and help you manage your expectations. Make no mistake: Jupiter transits can and do deliver big time but depending on these 5 factors, they may not deliver that way every time.
