Venus in Virgo
After weeks of flirting, partying and shopping while in Leo, Venus knew it was time to trade the Lion’s den in for a new environment, one where she could repair her health, regain her strength and rebuild her finances.
As luck would have it, the next stop on her cosmic itinerary just happened to be the home of the best caretaker in the zodiac: Virgo.
When Venus is in Virgo, she’s in the sign of her fall, which means her energy is depleted. Considering that during the past several months she may have overspent in Aries, overeaten in Taurus, overbooked in Gemini, overprotected in Cancer and over-partied in Leo, it comes as no surprise that by the time Venus reaches Virgo, her tank is almost empty.
Fortunately for Venus, there’s no better place in the zodiac to rest and recuperate than the sixth house. The Maiden is a gifted healer, and while her regimens can be demanding, her dietary and fitness plans do work.
Although Venus isn’t the most ambitious planet in the heavens, her rulership of Taurus gives her a practical side that relates well to the Maiden’s no-nonsense approach and appreciates her efficient nature. Consequently, her earthy side feels at home in the sign of perfection, and she has little trouble meeting its expectations.
Another area of common ground is money. As the natural ruler of the second house, Venus presides over finances, and as the ruler of accounting, the Maiden examines and prepares financial records. As you would imagine, they make quite a team. While Venus is here, she gets serious about her finances and balances her books with a frugal eye.
Venus also rules values and self-esteem, and while in Virgo, she carefully reviews who and what is meaningful to her. Although she strives for perfection, the Maiden falls short, which is why Venus in Virgo often suffers from low self-esteem. In the sign of high standards, Venus needs to guard against being too hard on herself or else she runs the risk of feeling inadequate.
In terms of romance, although Venus in Virgo’s reputation for being selective is well deserved, her reputation for being cold or unloving is not. Although she may not be as openly sensuous as Taurus or as secretly lusty as Capricorn, she’s still a child of the earth and embodies the same powerful creative feminine energy.
When Venus in Virgo falls in love, she’s devoted to her partner and truly means it when she promises to be there for better or worse. If need be, she’ll work two jobs to pay the bills, care for ill family members and live a minimalist lifestyle. In short, she’ll live with any number of sacrifices, but the one thing she can’t live with is being taken for granted.
Although Venus is the first to admit that her visit with the Maiden isn’t the most exciting experience, she’s quick to point out that it’s the most healing one.
And at this point in her journey, she’s exactly where she needs to be.
